Ati 5450 Drivers For Mac
Yep, HD5450 works very well on Lion 10.7 retail, all you need is is ati5000injector.kext in E/E and it works perfectly with QE/CL. The method was originally developed for Snow (and required a modded ATYInit and a captured ROM image, in addition to ATI5000Injector.kext there). Fortunately, because Lion supports the entire GPU family directly, all that's needed is ATI5000Injector.kext (in /System/Library/Extensions).
If you use the USB flash installer method (or the HDD-partition source/xMove method), putting ATI5000Injector.kext (along with FakeSMC.kext, of course) in /S/L/E of that partition gives you full resolution support in the install as well. That is, in fact, why I'm not exactly rushing to look at new GPUs for upgrading the Hack side of things, despite falling prices for HD6790, as I'm not sure if it works in Lion (or Snow).at all. I'm not an expert but all I did to get my HD5450 working on 10.6.8 is to put ATI5000injector in E/E, I never used any ATYInit or ROM images.
Same with Lion (and I already upgraded to 10.7.1 and had no problem with the GPU at all). In mac os x install usb,ati 5450 work. I am having quite a bit of difficulties on my system running 10.7.3 and just can't seem to get this right. I just bought an Asus 5450 HD Silent card tonight and haven't had any luck getting this to work. If I boot up with GE=no it boots up just fine and gives me a full gamut of resolutions to work with, identifies as a 5000 series, I can play chess without issue, didn't test the DVD bit though. But when I enable graphics it passes the grey load screen and when it changes resolution it just goes black, so no signal anymore.
I've tried putting ATIinjector.kext in e/e and s/l/e with no luck. I've looked through all these different threads about the 5450 and cannot seem to figure it out. I don't get why when the graphics are disabled it works fine, yet when I enable them it doesn't work.
Can anyone shed some light on why that would be? The trick (thanks to machinist) is to find the correct PCIRootUID value via ioreg -l grep -15 'AppleACPIPCI' grep 'UID' which will output a # (known values betw. 0 and 4, but higher values might appear) then enter that value into the org.chameleon plist as follows: PCIRootUID # also make sure you have the following entries in your plist GraphicsEnabler Yes AtiConfig UrFrameBuffer UrFrameBuffer probably Eulemur?
Remove.ANY. EFI strings from device properties (best delete kex/string) save delete.any. grfx enablers from E/E and S/L/E delete extension (if present) AND (mandatory step here!) kernel caches, in Lion: /System/Library/Caches/Startup make sure you have a current Chameleon bootloader installed (e.g.
Via Chameleon Wizard, or Chimera) reboot see if EVERYTHING works (res. Changes/ QE-CI e.g. By launching Chess/ multi-monitors/ DVD Player). Hey guys, I have Lion 10.7.4 installed on a Hp Dm4 1095br with a ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5450 1gb. But there's no way I can make the OSX load the ATI Kext files. On a verbose book I can see that it recognizes the card just fine, but when the system is up I only have my Intel Hd Graphics GPU working.
I tried to disable the Hybrid video in mi BIOS but it's a locked function, even if I switch off the Hybrid, goes back on automatically. I don't know what else I can do, I've search this forum like crazy and no solution so far. Hope you guys can help me. LOOK HERE!!!! LOOK HERE!!!! I've tried this and other many ways, but the problem is that my card it's no been recognized by the OSx. It recognize it on the boot, but when the system is loaded up, only the Intel HD graphics is active. I can disable the Intel HD on the BIOS, for what I've goggled there's no way of setting the Intel as discret.
With the intel I can do much, I cant even watch a video on youtube with this card. I must install Windows 7, cause I work with photography and video and can't be without good VGA performance. A real shame because I loved Lion, this week as been so much fun playing with it. A real shame.

Ati 5450 Drivers Windows 7
(Yosemite) The problem: The possible solution: I have read in forums that to the original ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB.so I purchased one. My expirience: I have no expirience with hackintosh at all. I only read about Kext files today. I have downloaded some and tried to move them to librarys/extenions but the Mac only recognizes the new HD 5450 as 'monitor' without any driver.
Coul you please give me a detailed tutorial on what I have to do in order to get this baby running? Also please keep in mind that I have some trouble recognizing stuff on my screen (as shown in the screenshot above):) Edit 1: From what I can tell now I would have to do the following steps:. download some ATI Radeon HD 5450 kexts. edit them to add my graphicscard ID to iopciMATCH. install them using Kext Wizard. repair permissions and stuff using Kext Wizard. set GraphicsEnabler = YES in org.chameleon.Boot.plist.
set ATIConfig = Eulemur in org.chameleon.Boot.plist Newest problems: Yosemite keeps repeating 'system extensions cannot be used', even after 'repairing' them. Also I don't have a /extra folder in Yosemite and I don't know how to use or where to locate the org.chameleon.Boot.plist.
Edit 2: So I've learned that the 'extra' folder hast nothing to do with Yosemite or any other OS, but that it comes with installing 'MultiBeast' as well as the bootloader 'Chimera'. There still hasn't been a org.chameleon.Boot.plist, but I've created one using Chameleon Wizard.
Let's see if this works. That card will work great, it will work out of the box.
You will not get bootscreens however, so you will not see an image on your display until the OS loads. This will also prevent you from seeing the menu if you hold alt/option to boot in to another partition/drive. You'll only get bootscreens on an 'official mac' card such as an OEM 2600 XT, 8800GT, 5770, 5870, 680 or 7950. EDIT: One thing to note, that's a dual slot card and will block one of your other PCI-e slots. This isn't normally a consideration since most cards are dual-slot, but some 610 variants are single slot. This probably isn't an issue, just worth mentioning. You mean the originals before I've downloaded any?
They should be AMD5000Controller and AMDRadeonX3000. Every kext I've downloaded has been added to whatever has been there allready but I didn't overwrite anything. Is this unusual? Ah, so it didn't overwrite anything. That means you were using pretty old kexts, back when they were still named ATI5000Controller, etc. That explains why Yosemite can't use them.
Delete the downloaded kexts, they're useless in your case. Have you tried inserting your Dev ID in the above kexts I mentioned? Yes that's the problem. There were not a single kext that was named after any graphicscard distributor I know. There also were no AMD5000Controller or AMDRadeonX3000 kexts.
There were like a total of 4-6 kexts when I first opened the folder. The names didn't make any sense to me. The first time I've seen an AMD5000Controller was in one of the packages I've downloaded. I would tell you the original file names but I'm not in reach of my Mac right now Yes I have included my ID in all kext I've downloaded. Some had it in them already. UPDATE I got to admit that I made a silly mistake the whole time. I have been copying all files to /library/extensions instead of system/library/extensions for days in a row.
Today I:. Found out that s/l/e is indeed full with kexts and also contains all the original AMD kexts. Erased my whole HDD and installed Yosemite all fresh. HD 5450 wouldn't get recognized. I then added my ID to the factory kexts + repaired permissions.
HD 5450 wouldn't get recognized. I've then again tried HackinDoge's kexts and added my ID to them + repaired permissions. HD 5450 wouldn't get recognized So right now I'm back to square one. I thought solving the mistake with the wrong l/e folder would solves my problems but no. I have no idea what else I could try.
